Homemade Anti-Aging Face Masks

You don’t have to go far for face masks that make you look younger!

Face masks are all the rage nowadays, and we can see why – after a short and simple 15-20 minute application you get immediate results, the results may not be the most drastic or long lasting but for a special night out they surely do the trick.

There are many types of face masks to choose from – exfoliating, anti-aging, nourishing, de-puffing, the list goes on and on. Depending on one’s needs the right face mask can always be found…. or made!

Instead of spending extra time and money on seeking out already made face masks we thought: What about making economical, natural, no fuss, no bother face masks from the ingredients already in your house? And since we are all about looking and feeling young, we want to concentrate specifically on anti-aging face masks that also nourish and pamper your skin.

Homemade Face Masks:

Yogurt, Honey, and Lavender

The main ingredient in this mask is yogurt, which is packed with protein, antioxidants, lactic acid, and other vitamins. The acid gently removes dead skin, while the other properties moisturize and smooth, and the antioxidants stimulate the production of new skin cells. Mix together 3 tbsp natural live yogurt, 1 tsp honey, 2 to 3 drops pure lavender oil (assists with signs of aging, not to mention calms you down). Honey is also full of antioxidants which help to guard off signs of aging. Mis the ingredients together, leave on skin for 15 minutes and rinse off.

Papaya, Honey, and Lemon

Combine 1/2 of a cleaned and blended, ripe papaya, 1/2 teaspoon honey, and 1/4 teaspoon lemon or lime juice. Papaya is a great source of antioxidants and enzymes that rejuvenate the skin with lemon and honey adding more of the soothing and glowing effect. Rinse off after spreading and leaving it on the skin for 15 minutes.

Avocado, Wheatgrass, and Lemon

Blend together 1 ripe avocado, 1 tbsp wheatgrass juice, ½ squeezed lemon. Avocado contains vitamins B and E, which strengthen the skin while soothing. It is also chock full of phytochemicals, antioxidants, and amino and fatty acids to hydrate and moisturize the skin, as well as prevent and heal damage. Anti Aging properties really kick in through the wheatgrass as well while lemon provides help with brightening and fighting blemishes. leave 15 minutes on the skin and then wash off.

Egg Whites, Banana, and Papaya

Mix 2 tbsp papaya pulp, ½ mashed banana,1 egg + an 1 extra egg-white. Eggs help to give brightness and youth to the face, thanks to their contents such as proteins, moisture-preserving potassium, and vitamin B to boost oxygen. Papaya is a great exfoliant due to the papain enzyme. And last but not least the banana – bursting with potassium, antioxidants, and natural oils, as well as vitamins A, E, and C, it will beautify as well as any fancy cream.
