Reduce wrinkles and other imperfections with this proven and reliable device!
Youth, while taken for granted by the young, is highly sought after by those of us who’ve passed that stage of life. If only it could be bottled…, but while no magic youth potion exists anti-aging products, procedures and tricks have always been one of the most popular in the beauty arena.
Nowadays there is a multitude of anti-aging skin care approaches out there. It’s become nearly impossible to decipher them all, to know what really works and what doesn’t. One approach has stood the test of time and has proven to show very clear and visible results is microdermabrasion.
The precursor of modern microdermabrasion technique dates back to ancient Egypt where the likes of Cleopatra would have used sandpaper to scrape off the top layer of skin to reduce the appearance of scars and imperfections, and to expose a fresh and dewy complexion. Ouch! Not much progress was made until 1900’s when dermabrasion was introduced, which involved the removal of skin with a manually powered rotating wheel, and then in 1950’s motorized brushes were introduced into the procedure.
Real breakthrough came in 1985 when Italian doctors Dr. Mattioli and Dr. Brutto developed the first, as we know it today, microdermabrasion machine. There have been many variations and improvements since then but the basic idea has stayed the same: a device with a fine jet of abrasive crystals or diamonds removes the outermost layer of aging or dead skin, and then vacuums it away, exposing fresh skin as well as stimulating blood flow which in turn activates collagen and elastin into creating new skin cells.
While microdermabrasion might sound complicated, may be the name has something to do with that, and painful, it is in fact, a very mild, non-invasive facial resurfacing technique. When compared to other resurfacing procedures it is both less harsh and less time consuming, and there isn’t any downtime needed for recovery.
The list of benefits of microdermabrasion is pretty impressive:
- First and foremost improves aging skin by treating and reducing fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful looking and feeling skin
- Treats, minimizes or eliminates acne and acne scarring
- Improves oily or dull skin
- Fixes uneven skin tone, pigmentation and skin blemishes
- Minimizes enlarged pores
- Clears clogged pores
- Boosts cellular turnover
- Improves complexion, producing smooth and glowing skin
- Enhances circulation and lymph flow, boosting health of skin
- Assists in deeper penetration of skin products
Microdermabrasion has, for a long time, been a procedure administered exclusively in beauty salons and clinics. However, thanks to the progress made in the last 15 years we now have microderm devices, which is a name favored by some for microdermabrasion devices that are made for use outside of a clinic. These are a cheaper, less time consuming, and less hassle inducing option for doing microdermabrasion sessions at home. With miroderm devices such as Glo Me we can now easily and quickly conduct microdermabrasion sessions at home and keep skin balanced, youthful, clean and clear, and blemish free.
